A few weeks after D-Day, a newspaper published an article reporting that the British had only watered-down cider and poisoned water at their disposal on the front lines. Unfortunately, there were no spare transport aircraft available to deliver non-essential cargo to forward airfields. Therefore, it is believed that several squadrons previously operating from airfields on the south coast of England were involved in the operation. Initially, additional fuel tanks were used to transport beer, but a new method was soon developed: beer was transported in barrels. A modification was made to allow the barrels to be mounted on the bomb racks of Spitfires.
This special edition includes high-quality resin parts, enabling a faithful reproduction of the beer-carrying Spitfires – the "Flying Haulers." 2 x beer kegs, complete with keg lids and ends 2 x nose cones (available information suggests they were likely made from the rear section of a P-51 drop tank) 2 x bomb bays 1 x slipper tank
The set also includes an external canopy mask (for transparent parts) and a limited-edition beer mug dedicated to the ML208 – one of the aircraft that participated in these unusual missions.
Plastic model kit
The set includes 4 acrylic paints, glue, and a brush.
Scale: 1:24
