Handley Page Victor K.2/SR.2 - Airfix A12009 scale 1/72
The Handley Page Victor was a British, four-engine, jet-powered strategic bomber, later a mid-wing air tanker in the V series of bombers. Power was provided by four Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire A.S.Sa.7 engines. The prototype first flew in December 1952, and production lasted from 1956 to 1963, resulting in 86 units built. The first aircraft entered RAF service in 1957. A total of three bomber versions were built: the B.1, B.1A, and B.2, and from May 1965, some B.1 aircraft were converted to air tankers. The bomber versions were equipped with the Yellow Sun hydrogen bomb, the Blue Steel air-to-surface missile, or 35 conventional bombs of 454 kg each.
Technical specifications (version B.1): length: 35.05 m, wingspan: 33.53 m, height: 8.57 m, maximum speed: 1010 km/h, operational ceiling: 17,000 m, maximum range: 9,660 km.
