History note:

The P1 model was developed and launched into production as a technologically advanced successor to the F1. It differs from its predecessor in many respects. The fundamental difference lies in the use of a completely different power unit, the basic version being an 8-cylinder petrol engine with 727 hp. However, there is also the option of a hybrid drivetrain, consisting of a petrol and electric motor, which – combined! – generates a whopping 903 hp! Extensive changes have also been made to the styling – both the bodywork and the interior. For example, the characteristic layout known from the F1 model was abandoned in favor of a more conventional one. The steering, braking, and suspension systems have also been refined – compared to the F1 – with a much greater use of electronics. Thanks to all these features, the car boasts excellent performance – its top speed is factory-limited to 350 km/h. The car's acceleration is also impressive – It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds! The unit price of the new McLaren P1 was £866,000.
